Sorry for taking long to get to your forum post--I let the forum die and plus I've been out of town.
So I chose this piece that you psoed because I love love love the details. Alot of the symmetry going on here is simply in the different types of patterns going on here. The ups and downs against the hearts is a really interesting touch. Though everything is flowing in an opposite direction, the entire piece feels complete. The best part would have to be the palatte--red, white and black--a robust choice for the subject matter and patterns. Alot of the things stand out because of that choice. I also like how you opted for organic lines versus geometric lines. The balance is nicely noted. I also like the spalshes of solid color--gives the viewer a good place to rest and follow through. Nice job.
For critique I can only give you tips on how to boost the black values so that the entire piece looks saturated. All you can do with it is to scan it at a high resolution(as you did) then scale it down to capture the feel of saturation. I know it's a traditional piece so you can skip it if you want.
In the end, it's good and I think you have talent for design.
I really really like this! I had to show my fiance and he, who is not easily amused, said it was"fuckin badass".
I wish I had the guts to get something like that, I just think it's so out there though. I mean, really? How do you come up with something like that? Bad dream? lol
Anyway, great job!!! gl with that tattoo stuidio job!
Wow, this is so amazing. So much detail...must have taken forever. I love how you just combine different things randomly but they all come together in the end. The skull and heart are cool too. awsum work
I like this, there are so many different elements going on that it took me a while to decipher it, and the longer I look at it, the more I see. It must have taken a long time to complete.
I think the best part about this drawing is in the finished quality to it. To often drawings come off as sketches or just a little rough at the details, but this looks like something that was done in a commerical or professional setting.
Wow, you are god-damn talented! This piece is amazing...
I saw that you'd set it to Advanced Critique Encouraged, so I spend 5 minutes looking through the picture so I could give you some friendly advice on how to improve it, but I just can't find anything wrong with it! At first I thought you used a little too much black at the cheekbone, but that just adds character to it... makes it look evil.
I really hate it when I'm outdone by a 15 year old... are you sure you didn't hit the wrong number when you typed in your profile?
Lol No, Im 15. About to be 16 in June if that make it any better. Beside syour a really great artists. You can do sketches that turn out incredible. Me? I have to sit down and outline things and think it around in my head forever before actually creating something.
